Ho Chi Minh
City
There are few cities in the world as bustling and
captivating as Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon),
where our two schools are based. The commercial
hub of Vietnam, a population of over 10 million
somehow crams itself into its tree-lined boulevards
and winding alleyways.
Rich in history, not least with the influence still
cast by colonial France on cuisine and architecture,
the city offers a huge selection of ways to fill
your free time.
Things To Do
Visit the many temples, pagodas, markets, palaces
and museums that are scattered throughout the city.
Dine on a cruise on the Saigon river, or sample
the plethora of delicious Vietnamese dishes available
in restaurants and night-markets everywhere.
Alternatively, take advantage of southern Vietnam’s
wonderful climate and work on your tan at one of
the many open-air, palm-fringed swimming pools.
There is also a heaving nightlife, with a good mix
of bars and clubs aimed at different budgets and
tastes.
Regional Excursions
Furthermore, there are countless trips to be made
into the surrounding countryside, such as the timeless
riverways and floating markets of the Mekong Delta,
and the beach resorts of Vung Tau, Phu Quoc and
Mui Ne.
Lastly, Ho Chi Minh City is an excellent place to
be based for sojourns to the country’s Central
Highlands, destinations in northern Vietnam such
as the mountains of Sa Pa and the beautiful islands
of Ha Long Bay, and also for excursions into neighbouring
Cambodia and Laos. |
