Shane English Schools Taiwan (SEST) offers a number of exciting possibilities for teachers who are interested in living and working in a fast moving Asian country. Throughout the year many different employment opportunities arise within this organisation, and due to the diversity of these positions there is sure to be something for everybody.

The larger schools can have over 400 students, whilst smaller schools may have as few as 100. All schools are equipped with a teachers room stocked with course books and classroom materials. There are Taiwanese administrative staff at every school to deal with student enquiries and the day-to-day administration of the schools.

SEST sports two kinds of schools:

DTE ‘Direct Teaching Establishments’

• These schools are directly owned and managed by the Shane organisation
• All schools are in the Taipei or Taipei county area (In Region Schools)
• Some are standard language schools and some are kindergartens
• Direct Line Managers are native English speakers
• Teachers may teach students of any age and levels of students (from kindergarten to business) both in group classes and one-on-one

Franchise Schools

• These schools are owned and managed by Chinese nationals who have purchased a Shane franchise
• Some schools are outside of Taipei/Taipei county (Out Region Schools) and some are in the Taipei or Taipei county area (In Region Schools). Some are in big cities and some are in more rural areas
• Teachers may teach students of any age and levels of students (from kindergarten to business) both in group classes and one-on-one

Head Office

• Head office is located in Taipei
• Directors of Studies, Assistant Director of Studies and and Taiwanese admin staff are based there
• Extra 'ideas books', reference materials (including grammar and dictionaries) and photocopiable resources are available
• All training takes place here
