Lessons

  • Standard Group lessons last 90 min and students attend two or three times a week
  • Intensive Children’s classes last 2 hours and students attend up to 10 hours per week
  • Private classes usually last 1 hour but can last up to two hours. Some private students may come up to five times per week

Daily Schedule

  • Teachers may teach in different locations on different days (e.g. school A on Mondays , school B on Tuesdays etc.)
  • Teachers will normally not work in more than three locations in a week
  • Teachers arrive at least 30 min before the 1st class
  • Up to seven hours of teaching
  • Teachers usually work afternoons/evenings but may also have some morning classes. A typical day starts at noon, with children’s classes in the afternoon and adult in the evening

Weekly Schedule

  • Teachers teach 5 days a week with 2 days off
  • Teachers generally work a minimum of 80 hours per month (the average is around 100)
  • Generally, the same classes and same students are taught on the same day each week
  • Occasional six-day weeks (to e.g. undergo additional training, attend social events for students or cover for absent colleagues) are necessary
  • All teachers are entitled to 27 days of annual leave, including national and school holidays. Further holidays may be accrued under certain circumstances

Days off

  • Sunday plus another (non-consecutive) day off (eg Sunday plus Wednesday)
  • Days off usually remain the same for a year
  • Second year teachers have top priority in getting Sunday/Monday or Saturday/Sunday off
