Flights

• All flights for UK-recruited teachers are organised by Saxoncourt in conjunction with STA.
• A one way fare to China costs approximately GBP 350.00-370.00.
• Teachers pay their fares up front themselves.
• Up to 4200 CNY is reimbursed by SES China in 2 instalments, one after 6 months and the second on completion of the contract.
• Teachers travel together on a set departure date as advised by the school.
• Non-UK recruited teachers need to arrive at the same time as the main (UK) group.
• Teachers are met at the airport and taken to their accommodation by SES staff.

Commuting

• All SESC teachers are “based” in their Shane language school (franchise or DTE) but will travel to outside locations throughout a working day.
• All travel costs (bus, subway, taxi) are covered by the school.
• Outside locations can be spread throughout a city. It is unusual for teachers to be asked to travel for more than 90 minutes to a class or school.
• Teachers who are required to travel more than 5 km to an outside location will be credited with 30 minutes working time.
• The train and bus network in all cities is extremely clean, punctual and efficient. Taxis are also cheap and are the usual means of transport for SES China teachers.
• Most public transport signs are also in English.
